Hey guys!
I'm koonschi and I've recently finished the trailer for my game Avorion.
I have been working on the game by myself as a hobby alongside my studies of computer science for almost 4 years now and I recently put it up on Steam Greenlight.
Avorion is a space sandbox where players build their own ships using boxes of dynamic sizes instead of simple voxels.
Players start out at the edge of the galaxy and gather resources which they use to build their ships.
Once they've got a decent (=flyable) ship they go explore the galaxy and fight NPC pirates and factions, or each other.
Or they can become a merchant, trade, found stations, build mines and factories.
Enemies drop loot in the form of resources, new turrets and system upgrades, which can then be sold or used to upgrade the players' ships.
Materials, foes, weaponry and equipment all get stronger and more dangerous the more the players approach the center of the galaxy.
Features:
- Space combat & warfare
- Self-built ships with no size limit
- Powerful building mode
- Large procedurally generated galaxy
- Trading system (~100 different goods, factories for each and traders)
- 10 different turret types (and increasing)
- Multiplayer (coop or competitive, up to 10 and more players, depending on the machine)
- Fly every ship, from small fighters to large battleships or stations

Release:
Avorion is planned to be released in early access as soon as possible after it's greenlit and the steam API is integrated.
Target platforms are Windows & Linux. A Mac version is planned as well further down the road.
Demo (old and rusty):
There is also a demo available, however it is 1.5 years old by now and doesn't reflect current gameplay and graphics, but I didn't want to withhold it.
The trailer does reflect the current state of development though, and a new demo is in the making.
